Miren Shawl Kit & Pattern

The Miren Shawl is designed by Stephanie Davies (South African designer) for Btrix Designs. It is in Tunisian crochet and crocheted in a half moon shape. I was so fortunate to be requested by Beatrix Snyman to crochet it and the photo below is what I have crocheted. Is it not beautiful? I enjoyed it so much because of the different shape and obviously with all the beautiful Tunisian pattern stitches. You use a short Tunisian crochet hook almost like a traditional crochet hook and was done with Eco Fusion in 3 different colours.

I don't even want to start telling you about the beautiful stitch patterns in the Miren shawl. It is from a Tss (Tunisian Simple Stitch) to ripple with a difference - a ripple with a short row and lacy pattern stitch. I was amazed to see the outcome of the ripple. After a few pattern stitch repeats, I stopped and looked at the beauty of it. Unbelievable that you have a ripple effect with the pattern stitches. I learned SO much with the pattern and was very inspirational for my own designing.
